Title: The Apartment Above: A Story of Peace vs. Competition : The Silent Competition: Finding Peace Amidst Envy I live a very beautiful and happy life with my family in our home. By the grace of God, we are content, but the people living in the portion above us seem to have a completely different mindset. I constantly feel like they are in a silent competition with me. Whether it’s a small home improvement or something special I do for my children, they immediately try to outdo it the very next day. At first, I used to feel unsettled, wondering if I was doing something wrong or if I needed to keep up with them. However, I soon realized that true happiness doesn't come from proving yourself to others; it comes from being grateful for what you have. While they are busy trying to stay "above" me in every sense of the word, their constant need for validation seems to rob them of their own peace.
